Wake hosted Presidential Scholarship applicants this past week in the Scales Fine Arts Center (our Music Department building). The Presidential Scholarship refers to twenty renewable scholarships of $16,000 each that are awarded annually to students admitted to Wake Forest who possess exceptional talents in art, dance, debate, music, and theatre. These students are super talented and motivated!

In addition to a successful week for the presidential scholars, Wake also hosted a game for the NIT Women’s Tournament at the Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial Coliseum where our team pulled out a 71-42 victory! Prior to our NIT game, SOTOGAB was able to travel to Dayton, OH to face off against Kansas State. While we did not win the game, we enjoyed our flight back to Greensboro and the fun experience of playing at the NCAA tournament.

Our music department and band fraternity, Kappa Kappa Psi, also put together a team for this past week’s Wake ‘N Shake (an annual institution-wide dance off to raise money for cancer research) and raised $500. As a University, we raised a total of $334,337.52 for the Brian Piccolo Cancer Research Fund!
